Our Harlingen dental office is proud of the Registered Dental Hygienist that provides professional, preventive, and periodontal care.   Janie L. Jones RDH  is trained in preventive care, placing sealants on children's permanent teeth, dental implant maintenance, and oral hygiene instruction.

       Janie Lynn Jones graduated from Harlingen High School in 1973 and received a Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, Pan American, in 1978.  She received her Dental Hygiene degree from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi in 1980.  Janie received her certificate in Dental Implant Maintenance from the Meffert Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. 

Janie is available to explain how periodontal disease develops, and how you and she as a team can together, heal your gums and maintain good health.  She will clean your teeth in a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing manner.

Dental implant maintenance is an important factor in making an implant case last for many years.  The hygienists insure that our patients are able to keep their implant and bridge cases in extremely good health.  With visual and digital imaging video, our patients receive assistance in learning modern hygiene technology for keeping their gums in top condition.  This helps you have a healthy and beautiful smile. 

Periodontal (or gum) health is a high priority for our hygiene team.  The hygienist perform cleanings, or prophylaxis on our patients who have healthy gums.  This procedure is done several times a year.  Frequently,  patients present with periodontal disease, which can be a silent infection, without symptoms.  The hygienists are trained to detect the problems, and along with the dentist, treat the problem areas.  We have a new exciting material called Arestin, that assists us in treating periodontal disease.  Arestin is an antibiotic that is gently placed around the teeth that are cleaned to help the area heal and return to normal.  For more information click on the Arestin logo:
